GLUCOSAMINE 1000
What is it used for?
Occurring naturally in the body, glucosamine is an amino-sugar (a compound made of an amino acid and a sugar molecule). It is responsible for stimulating the key structural components of cartilage (the firm, rubbery tissue that cushions bones at the joints).
With use of the joint, fluid (synovial) is squeezed out of the cartilage to facilitate smooth movement. The synovial fluid is then reabsorbed back into the cartilage as pressure is released. As the body ages, and with repetitive use, its ability to shift this fluid in and out of the cartilage is compromised. The result can be reduced protection for the joints, causing inflammation, breakdown and eventual loss of cartilage; hence the pain and decreased mobility associated with osteoarthritis.
Glucosamine1000 helps assist in the everyday management of osteoarthritis, leading to temporary relief from joint pain within 3-6 weeks.
Supplementation studies with this naturally occurring compound suggest that glucosamine may be at least as effective as some of the common medications used to treat this painful joint condition, but with fewer gastrointestinal side effects.
