Herron Glucosamine & Chondroitin Forte is suitable for adults wanting to assist their bodies rebuild and repair damaged joint cartilage, helping to reduce arthritic pain and increase joint flexibility and mobility.
What is it used for?
With the use of the joint in healthy individuals, fluid (synovial) is squeezed in and out of the cartilage during normal movement. The synovial fluid is forced out when the joint is under pressure or compressed. Then, as pressure on the joint is relieved, synovial fluid is absorbed back into the cartilage, like water into a sponge, ready to be squeezed out again next time the joint is placed under pressure. In people with Osteoarthritis, the body's ability to shift this fluid in and out of the cartilage is compromised. This can result in reduced protection for the joints, causing inflammation, degradation and eventual loss of cartilage; hence the pain and decreased mobility.
Glucosamine and Chondroitin are key building blocks of both the cartilage that maintains the space between the joints, and the polysaccharides involved in joint lubrication and cushioning. They provide the structural framework for cartilage and contribute to its resilience, an important requirement for the maintenance of healthy joints & joint flexibility, to help nourish healthy cartilage and synovial fluid and to lubricate joints.
Glucosamine, an amino-sugar that occurs naturally in the body, is responsible for stimulating the structural components of cartilage.
Chondroitin has hygroscopic properties and "attracts fluid" back into the joint, helping to provide the cushioning effect.
The two work together to help increase joint flexibility and mobility whilst easing the associated pain.

Chondroitin sulphate - bovine sodium 400 mg
Daily Dosage
Adults - Take one tablet twice daily (2 tablets total) with food or as professionally directed.
This is the therapeutic dose for the daily management of Osteoarthritis: Glucosamine HCl 1500mg & Chondroitin sulphate 800mg).
It may take approximately 3 - 6 weeks of continuous use for a clinically significant improvement in symptoms.
